Siteground offers three different plans for their shared web hosting; Startup, GrowBig, and GoGeek.  Also, they now offer a unique WooCommerce plan that is based upon their GoGeek plan that you can read more about here.

Startup Plan

This is Siteground’s basic plan that starts at just $3.95 per month. According to their website it includes:

  • Unlimited Traffic, Emails, DBs. NOTE – they indicate that it is suitable for up to 10,000 monthly visits.

  • cPanel & SSH access
  • Free Daily Backup
  • Cloudflare CDN
  • Supercacher Static Caching only
  • WordPress & Joomla Toolkits – This allows automation of various tasks.

GrowBig Plan

Unless you need access to Siteground’s developer features, this is our recommended plan. Not only do you get all three levels of their awesome Supercacher (by this we mean caching for database and object cache), but you get the following:

  • 30 days worth of backups with easy access to restore
  • Unlimited websites
  • One year free SSL
  • Priority support
  • Suitable for around 25,000 visits monthly.

The Supercacher uses Nginx and Memcached to cache both dynamic and static content and works with WordPress, Joomla and more recently Magento (update, their Magento Supercacher is only available on their Cloud Hosting).

GoGeek Plan

If you need some seriously great hosting, then you have to consider their GoGeek plan. This comes will all previous features discussed, in addition to the following:

  • Fewer accounts on each server, meaning you can use up to 4 times more resources than their StartUp plan
  • PCI compliant server for e-commerce allowing you to take credit card details on your site.
  • Developer features – This is one of our favorite things about them. Automatically create staging copies of your site so you can test changes before pushing them live with a single click. Not only that but for the more advanced developer you have pre-installed GIT, with automatic setup. There is also WP-CLI integration available, as well as Drush if you are a Drupal maniac. A Closer Look at the Premium Features at Siteground

It will be exciting to see what they have installed for us all next, as it seems we now have to update our Siteground review on a regular basis just to keep up with all the new features. Here is a brief summary of our favorite Siteground features as well as links for further reading:

  • WordPress & Joomla Toolkits (all plans) – Automate simple tasks such as resetting admin passwords, fixing file permission issues, changing the domain address, or just deleting the installation.  These tools arose as a result of SiteGround support repeatedly being asked to solve the same questions faced by their customers.  By having access to these tools, you too can help your customers easily and quickly. You can read more about the Toolkits here.
  • SuperCacher with Nginx and Memcache (Static only on StartUp). This makes your WordPress, Joomla or Drupal website extremely fast, and you can read more about it here, as well as see speed tests utilizing this technology below.
  • Fantastic developer features (GoGeek only) such as Site Staging, WP-CLI, Drush integration and Git integration. We have written a detailed summary of all these features, which you can read here.
  • PHP 7 + Opcache – This is a relatively new feature, which you can read more about here.  You can also look at some benchmarks showing the significant speed increase PHP 7 has over earlier versions.

We appreciate there is quite a lot to read up on, but that just demonstrates just why they are so great.

They use cPanel, albeit with custom styling to make it look professional. One thing we like is that the cPanel is readily available and integrated into their general billing client area.

The cPanel sports Softaculous auto installer, as well as their custom installs for Joomla, WordPress, and Magento. Along with the standard options, you can also access all the Developer and WordPress Joomla toolkits that we have talked so much about. Siteground Fast Support – 15-minute ticket response

Messed Up your WordPress install or trying to work out a .htaccess 301 redirect but cannot get it to work? No problem. They have some of the most helpful, and fast support technicians we have seen.

If you sign up, just ask them a quick query. We guarantee they will respond within a few minutes. It is that fast. But it is not just about speed here.

Siteground are fanatical about WordPress, Joomla, and even Magento among many other talents. They have the technical ability to help you out, and if required can be hired to carry out more technical work too.

Superior Uptime at Siteground

They have one of the best uptime figures going. They never have problems with their data centers, or have technicians make “mistakes” that cause downtime.

Great uptime for their hosting

One of the reasons why their Uptime figures are so high is that they have built custom server monitoring software that can automatically resolve 90% of issues without human interaction.

They also track their servers in real time, not 1-5 minutes like other hosts. Furthermore, while other hosts can take the time to react to the downtime, you can see how their system can mean vastly less downtime.

Extremely Fast – Siteground Supercacher with Ram Based Caching

We gave them a spin with a standard theme we got off Themeforest, which although may be a little more bloated than we are used to seems to provide an excellent test to gauge the speed of the server.

We optimized the site using Siteground’s Static and Dynamic Supercache (Dynamic not available on their Startup Plan, but see this tutorial for our recommended setup for their Startup Plan using W3 Total Cache + Cloudflare). We removed all third party scripts (social shares analytics) as we wanted to test just the server, not third party scripts that are loaded from other sites.

All these tests were carried out on Siteground GoGeek plan on their EU Server in Amsterdam:

This mirrors the kind of speeds we have seen with other web hosts that offer no server optimizations.

NGINX Supercacher

With their Supercacher, no Caching plugins are required (i.e. W3 Total Cache), and it can be set up in minutes.  You can see the significant improvement in page load times below:

Great Value at Siteground with fantastic features

For all the features, you get for the price is pretty incredible, especially with the discount on your first invoice with our Siteground coupons. While the GrowBig plan and GoGeek plan are more expensive that other hosts, this is because not only do they increase Bandwidth and Disk Space with each plan, but they increase CPU usage as well.

This means that Siteground’s GoGeek plan is more akin to a semi-dedicated solution, and even then with all the developer features and other functionality, it still represents an incredible value in comparison to the competition.

    I wanted a place where I could quickly and easily put up a site in which I embedded an application built on another cloud hosted service. I also wanted a responsive site using a site builder tool (just being lazy/efficient) AND allowed me to have a cert and force HTTPS on the whole sure. After a long search I found siteground that finally meet AOL my nerds.

    Awesome Host, Could not be any more happy moving from Host Gator Level 3 VPS… they seem faster and more importantly… Easier to use and good support which answerers in seconds!
    Unlike HG they actually offer Malware scan and take good care of my sites!
    going from VPS to shared hosting is feels like a pleasent downgrade to a better, faster service.

    Had to post this comment after being helped by CSP – Dessy P over at Siteground.
    Fantastic service!
    I was asking her about information for transferring my acct to another Hosting Provider because I needed an extra SSL for my one of my addon subdomains and I already activated one in my account with Siteground.
    Not only was she able to provide me with these info readily and competently, towards the end of our conversation, she cared enough to ask me why i’m transferring the domain out.. after hearing my explanation, she went the extra mile to ask permission for me to remove the current free SSL I have on another domain and transfer it to this one.
    Last but not least, if you care about getting through to someone in Live Chat in 5 mins or less, Siteground is far superior to Hostgator in this respect. I use both services and I have to wait up to 20mins to half an hour before getting a response on Hostgator. I think this is an important feature because if you need support, you really don’t want to wait more than 5 mins for it from live chat..

    + PROS: Fast response to Live Chat. Most CSPs are good at their job and if not you can always escalate to a Senior Rep.
    - CONS: Adding subsequent features like SSL to more than 01 domain is more expensive than comparable providers.

    Been with Siteground for one month. We had a rocky start but as things smoothed out its been all uphill from there .. As stated in many of the reviews above, their support service is incredible. Being with both providers over 3 years each, Host Gator and Godaddy lost our business because of their downgraded service and lack of support. We’re in the high end transportation business and in 24 hours, which is the typical response time for most host, I can have 20-30 people stranded at the airport. With Siteground I have never had to wait more then 10 minutes for a Support Team Member response. That gives me unmatched comfort and ease of mind.

    They say a new broom always sweeps clean, My guess is that they were trained by an old broom and know all the corners.

    I am not a professional web site developer – rather an enthusiastic amateur. I cannot fault Siteground in terms of value for money and services offered. Certain aspects of web hosting, domain transfers etc. are something of a “black art” unless you are a professional. The guidance provided has always been spot on and I was not made to feel ignorant (even though I was)

    + PROS: Very prompt attention 24/7. Support representatives are always polite and efficient. I have never had a problem that has not been swiftly solved to my satisfaction. I heartily recommend Siteground

    I am a clumsy old first timer and learning to build a site. Had a problem, site wouldn’t load, posted a ticket, followed the instructions to supply the technical info and hay presto a couple of minutes the site’s up again with an explanation of what had been the cause.
    10 out of 10, couldn’t have wished for more.

    Wow–when an apparent apocalypse hit our server at Arvixe a friend recommended SiteGround. These guys helped me move my website (I had never done this before) and their support was seamless over several calls to different individuals. Over the course of an afternoon I got it done and made a back up copy just in case. Never had to wait long, everyone immediately understood my problem and had the answer. Awesome!

    Just evaluating the customer support in my initial contact with this company. Tanya was awesome and told me everything I wanted to hear. If she is indicative of this company, and its offerings, I am going to be very, very happy migrating a number of our sites here.

    At this point I can really only speak to support, features and value. But from the reviews I’ve seen from others, it looks like this company is far superior to gdaddy and others we’ve had dealings with.

    Most of your support are not happy to be in their job. I believe if you don’t like your job find something you like. They take a long time to answer questions are always in a hurry and are very unsupportive. Ivan was the best out of all, the only problem like all the support people I dealt with he took longer than 2-3 mins to respond. other than that he was great.

    Unscrewed my website after I tried to port it myself from WordPress.com to Siteground/Wordpress.org, THEN helped me through some stupid-obvious questions I had to fix my website through the dashboard & redirect my domain properly. Site works great, plugins are fabulous (that I couldn’t get on WordPress.com), and everything’s going well.

    + PROS: + Port over for you + Will fix stuff you screw over, no matter how long it takes + Support staff are AMAZING and go the extra mile--again, no matter how long it takes. Never rushed, always knowledgable, and give me the links I need to fix it myself in the future.
    - CONS: None so far, though I'm only a month in with no real traffic to speak of--so take this with a grain of salt.

    I just made a stupid mistake by deleting the whole website folder and EVERYTHING is GONE!!!

    They helped me recover it in just 20 minutes!!!
    They saved my job and successfully and earned a loyal customer!!

    I haven’t been in Siteground for long, so I cannot say much about it. But compare to hostgator and bluehost which after just a week, not good customer service, slow customer service, slow website, server down a lot esp, for bluehost. I am glad I discover siteground and so far it is the best. Thank you :)

    I was attracted to siteground as many other from the very good reviews around the web (despite the fact that we know we cannot trust most of them ^^).

    However, i appreciated sincerely the guys from the chat @siteground, which were always very polite, willing to help, and reactive. The system, interface, hardware, performances, everything was generally good @siteground.

    The main problem is the technical support (only available per ticket) which can be really slow with answering (up to several hours/24h) and is somehow kinda ‘under-educated’ for specific topics (WP, MySql). Pardon me if this isn’t the right word, i meant that they do have little knowledge in matter of plugins or other WP specificities, and didn’t gave me at all an impression of being ‘gurus’ like they pretend to be.

    I left them because of all these reasons, as they were unable after 7 days to answer my questions nor solve the problems i had, related to my DB. I had 8 different people (including 2 senior staff) involved in this process, and none of them was able to provide a reliable solution, and they just added more tasks for me to perform as they wouldn’t listen. They even succeed to corrupt my new DB and i had to reinstall several times WP and do all the settings again. Good point is, you learn quickly how to manage your backup feature there. ^^

    So, if you’re confident with your skills about managing your server and DB, siteground can be a good choice, but don’t rely too much on the support for DB, especially if your CMS is WordPress.

As stated in you last ticket, the DB issue described by you required the attention of an experienced developer to troubleshoot it. We employ very well trained people, but unfortunately this specific case goes beyond the scope of their duties as web hosting Support.
      We have also checked their response time and can clearly see that their replies never took more than an hour, except for 1 occurrence when your ticket was forwarded to a supervisor who is available only during regular office hours.
      Nevertheless, we respect our customers’ feedback and have made sure your it’s forwarded to the appropriate person.

    I liked the support and customer service. But, I am not satisfied with the server response (slow for loading a site). Bu- I have to say, the customer service is brilliant and always there to help for all our queries. Apart from the slow server, I am happy with siteground.

    I want to give a credit to a guy from their customer service that solved my problem after it kept dragging out for a day. I talked to a couple of them but none of them were really helpful. This guy was friendly and made my problem of his own. Good customer service can either ruin or make your day and this guy for sure made my day.     I switched to Siteground recently to have a faster server for my magento based websites. I was really surprised by the speed my website has now. i create websites since many years and i’ve never seen a support service like the one from Siteground. it’s really great!     I have chose sitground because a rating review I came across in a tech blog. They were about the same price as most of the others,maybe a couple of cents cheaper. The thing that impressed me since I manage a maintenance shop,is the service. I today’s world companies are equal,or about equal as for as price. What sets them apart for me is service before and after. That’s worth dollars and moreover value.

    Paid for a year and only used 3 months worth. They would not refund the difference. Would not recommend paying this company a year in advance. I will not recommend to clients/coworkers for their hosting.

    I have been using Siteground GoGeek Shared hosting with their varnish supercacher for about 1 1/2 years and it is amazing. I run a magento store and it performs like it would on a dedicated server. The support team is amazing and they have come through over and over again from billing to technical issues. I have used godaddy, dreamhost, hostgator and none compare to Siteground. SIMPLY THE BEST.

    + PROS: Varnish and Memcache on SHARED hosting account Extremely technically experienced support team, they know and understand Wordpress, Joomla, Magento and many other apps and are quick to resolve technical issues. 24/7 support and they get their stuff done fast. If needed i can call but I never have to.

    David C spent well over an hour with me, even though the problem was of my own making, and he sorted everything out professionally and without geek language.

    If you are considering shared hosting, don’t mess about with the others you’ll drive yourself mad eventually. It’s easy to offer shed loads of space, but no-one offers the help and support these guys do. You will get issues, that’s just the way the web is – there are bad guys everywhere. Peace of mind is where it’s at – one sale lost or one potential customer that gets a bad experience on your site due to some 12 year old hacker or worse is not worth saving a couple of buck, pounds, or euros over.

    Thanks again David C, you epitomise what customer care really is and what you can expect from Siteground.

    + PROS: Everything. Support outstanding.
    - CONS: None really. Maybe a bit less space etc than the competition, but that pales into nothing when you know that they do the job right, rather than just offering a load of space. A bit like using a great camera rather than just the one with the highest resolution.

    I do recommend Siteground as a hosting provider! The main reason is their 24 hour support by chat, phone or tickets. There is a toll free phonenumber to call for any support required over here in Amsterdam, The Netherlands! In addition, for people without any experience and knowledge about building a website or starting a blog, there is lots of understandable turtorials to assist you. And if not, they are always able to help you 24h/day.
    Don’t even think about having trouble with Worldpress or Magento installation as they provide an installing app which automatically creates your store/blog! The so called “control panel” provides a nice and understandable overview of the hosting options. Encryption of data over the internet via SSL protocol is a must for every store owner, and easily installed via Siteground. Depending on your account, the most advanced caching techniques are available for superior fast page loading (Varnish/Apache, Nginx/HHVM, memcached, static cache, GooglePagespeed and CDN) which is one of the main factors for page ranking in Google.

    Support tickets have been answered very quickly. Only once in the first month (I’ve just recently switched hosts) did I run into difficulty, not being able to get a good answer. But eventually they came through. So far, compared to my previous hosting company (8 years with them) this was a minor inconvenience. Kudos to the tech support team.

    I tried many hosting companies (Bluehost, HostGator, GoDaddy and lots of Dutch ones) and finally ended hosting everything with SiteGround.

    I actually love going over to the support chat or ticket service since the support team is not only friendly (I’ve been tearing my hear out while talking to support at some other big hosting companies), but also help you find the best solution to your problem.

    I now host all my client websites at SiteGround, have used the lower plans as well, but it was very easy to scale up to higher cloud plans with more features. They just make it very easy to work with them, that is why I would definitely recommend hosting with these guys and girls.

    + PROS: Best support ever: friendly, quick, personal and effective. Great tools for WordPress nerds like me to help optimize my websites and make them superfast. Never had any downtime problems. Comprehensive tutorials about every subject. Did I say amazing support already? They even helped me fix some local issues.
    - CONS: Not sure if I can name any, if I have any problems (as will happen with any hosting company) they will solve it immediately.

    Excellent customer service. I used Hostgator for years and while they were good in the beginning, it deteriorated after time. I have used other hosts and some were not even available except for limited hours. Ivan M. today was awesome with solving a code issue for us. I look forward to more excellent service in the future.

    I’ve had other hosting companies in the past. If I had to summarize them in one word it would be “terrible.” Since I’m still learning website construction, Siteground (always eager to help) has been the best thing that’s happened to me as hosting services are concerned. Every bit of advice and help I’ve received from the chat contact people has been right on the money. Without exaggeration, the other hosting sites I’ve had were lucky if they got 50% of my problems solved. If you want to know what maddening is try solving a problem based on the advice a tech support person gives you, only to find out the advice was wrong. It happened to me all the time with the other companies. So far, Siteground is bating 1000 where I’m concerned. I’ll be a customer for quite awhile I think.

I can’t even remember exactly what the final deciding factor was that made me go with SiteGround but I did, and have never looked back. These guys really know what they are doing.     I use Siteground since about a year and as our Site required more performance we upgraded from very basic shared hosting to more advanced shared hosting and Cloudflare caching. In the end the shared hosting came to its limits with our requirements and dedicated was out of our budget so we asked the support for ideas and switched to cloud hosting at very affordable budget.
    I really recommend Siteground. You can start very basic and services scale with your needs. Support is very good and skilled.

    I have had hackers hacking into my wordpress site which wasn’t immediately fixed. One could wonder if that was my fault or not. Anyway… they fixed it, and increased my monthly usage for free to survive the month. They did that a couple of months until it got fixed. Why am I putting this in the cons. Good question.

    I have ordered a domain name with a wrong spelling: they paid me back.

    I have had the odd support newby who completely messed up and waisted my (and his) time.

    They’re good, nobody is without fault. If they do, they fix it.

    + PROS: I've got plenty of websites with them. I'm pretty happy. I complain a lot... that's my nature. And they just fix it. I recommend siteground to everybody. That might be because of my lack of experience with many others... I've been with uk2.net and another one. Anyway... siteground just works, and I have nothing to complain about.

      I would recommend you make sure your Password is a secure one. Also, always make sure you install \ download plugins from a reputable source.

      Ultimately, I find most people are hacked due to weak passwords (note quite often the password is obtained elsewhere, and they will see if any other accounts you have use the same one). I would recommend Lastpass and make sure you have different passwords for each site \ login.

    I used to be a customer of Justhost.com over the course of five years I had my ups and downs. Mostly it was okay for a while. Support was good and consistent. Recently they outsourced support and it is unbearable. Worst company ever now. I went through a lot of time, money and energy just to move my account.

    So glad I did. Site ground is light years ahead. Support is like literally day and night. Quick efficient agents are really friendly and really compentent. When I would ask the agents at Justhost to do something simple because I didn’t understand what to do, they himmed and haulled and flat out refused to every do anything “that’s not included”…

    Siteground just do it. BAM. Done “All set!” They make my life so much easier.

    + PROS: AMAZING tech support. Best I've ever worked with! The Live Chat loads so quickly too, I'm never waiting more than a couple minutes to talk with someone. It's very obvious that SG invests a lot of effort into training and nurturing their support staff!
    - CONS: Sometimes the admin panel is a little confusing, for some reason I always have issues with locating domain settings (renewals and such), that I don't experience with other hosts but it's a mild inconvenience.

      You seen their Cloud with the new HHVM? So much faster that PHP 5.6. Just waiting for it to be rolled out on existing clouds (its on new accounts now) so I can try it out (this site is on Siteground Cloud). HHVM is what Facebook uses.

    Super support! I cannot say enough. Over the years have been been many many hosting companies. In fact I’d say all the best known 10 of them. One bad experience after another. But with SiteGround, any issues that have come up, and sometimes they do, odd things happening with site extensions and plugins and such, have been solved quickly, with a smile. SiteGround are it. Need hosting – there’s no one else. I have recommended more than a couple dozen or so clients to them over the last several years. Everyone is happy.

    + PROS: Support is second to none, and the server seems pretty fast. The add ons I have make everything faster and easier and they seem to be on top of things before I even ask about it.
    - CONS: Great service, but you pay for it. Personally I'm happy with that because for the price I pay I expect the service I receive.

    We are coming to the end of our six month test of SiteGround’s VPS Cloud service.
    The positive reviews for Siteground primarily come from the shared hosting packages that they offer.
    However, we have mixed feelings about the company and their services.
    We just upgraded to the new Enterprise Cloud hosting (migration cost of 140USD), and noticed a bump in performance in the backend admin of our WPMU. The move did not help with pageload times, nor did we see an improvement in throughput, our main concern.
    The biggest gripe I have about SiteGround services is the lack of resources they apply to their VPS product, especially in relation to bandwidth. This is not to be confused with pageload times.
    This page, as an example, has a pageload speed of 6.98 seconds, and a throughput (also known as download speed) of 41.44kbps (we’re testing from Sydney, Australia). Our eCommerce site, coriandercustomprinting.com, has a pageload time of 4.25 seconds, but a throughput of only 28kbps.
    We’ve tested numerous SiteGround customers’ sites that we found on hosting-reviews, and while a few of them ranked similarly, the majority tested were around 300-400kbps and upwards.
    We also looked at customers on Inmotion, and did our own testing on a Cloudways’ trial server. Here to we saw throughput speeds upwards of 500 to 600kbps on average.
    The frustrating thing about these two sets of tests is that many of the sites that performed better were located State side, and from the comments left in reviews, are on shared hosting plans.
    We also noticed that our dedicated and server IPs were located in the US – our server is in Singapore, and as I mentioned above, we’re in Sydney, Australia.
    We’ll continue to work with SiteGround to try to resolve this issue, but if we can’t we’ll be moving to a different hosting plan with another provider. Which in many respects would be a shame, as the new cloud hosting is a vast improvement over the old troubled one, with tons of improvements and options. But at the end of the day, if the pipe connecting your service is really small, the super optioned VPS doesn’t really count for much.

    + PROS: Support is great, very responsive Features of the "new" Cloud Server are awesome
    - CONS: Speed has improved on the brand new VPS Cloud servers, but the throughput is dismal at best Overall value vs. cost is lower because of the bandwidth issue

      Hey Mike,… just so you know, this site is hosted on their Cloud VPS. The SSL issue is a tricky one, as you need to configure Siteground slightly differently.

      Highly recommend you follow: https://www.besthostnews.com/guide-to-w3-total-cache-settings-with-cloudflare/ but also change object caching to disk, disable database caching. WHen setting up the supercacher you won’t be able to use varnish caching, but you can use memcache for the database caching.

      This important thing, especially in Australia is to use the Cloudflare setup, but make sure you use Railgun. You set it up within cpanel itself. Anyway, this site is an example of what you can expect speed wise.

      Hello Mike, we were able to locate your correspondence with the support team and and as we see you have discussed in detail the situation you have encountered. As our Technical Support Manager was able to explain, it seems that the results are connected to 1). the fact that you are forcing SSL connection what affects the speed; and 2). The 2 files you were using for testing purposes, are actually not one and the same file. Those are 2 different files located under different directories on your server. It is only normal to get different results as there are multiple additional rules applied to the second one. There is an extensive .htaccess file with additional rules, as mentioned SSL is forced for this directory, multiple rewrite conditions that should be checked also. Our techs are ready to assist you further with this question if you wish, just update the latest ticket.     I’ve used many different hosting companies over the past 20 years. I’ve always got between 20 and 50 live websites on the go.

    Siteground has never gone down on me in the approximately 3 years I’ve been using them.

    Support is second to none. Always! My tickets are always replied to in minutes. Always the correct answers for me and my limited tech knowledge. Always a solution that answers my questions and implemented asap.

    People might think we’re doing this for fun, but no. Siteground means business. Value for money, quality support (and timely), and uptime. I’m going 3 months now and while it may seem a bit early to give such rating I beg to differ as the previous host I was with didn’t provide such service.
    I’ve always rant on and on about email services, guess now I have found a reliable services.

    I moved to SG and now I have no service whatsoever. They said it’s my previous provider’s fault, but it (blank screen) only happened when they started transferring, and have now put the onus on me. I hope they resolve this. They said they can’t help until I fix things with my current provider, but my current provider, crappy as it is, has never had this problem before.

    Tired of giving money to people who have no idea what they are doing.

    I have been running website for the past 9 years and have gone through at least a dozen hosting companies. I have used Big Name shared hosting from HostGator, HostMonster and DreamHost as well as more expensive Cloud hosting from MediaTemple, LiquidWeb and others.

    Then I moved into the specialty WP hosting like WP engine and LightningBase.

    Finally I settled on SiteGround about 7 months ago.

    OMG! they are fantastic!

    I jumped right in with their entry level Cloud 1 package. Since then I have added multiple add-on services like SSL and a super advanced Email Spam service.

    I have used their telephone, chat and email ticket support offerings. They have delivered every time. I specialize in developing Membership websites and SiteGround is my goto hosting provider for clients who are struggling.

    I always recommend sit ground to everyone, and have few site with you, for a month I have been trying separate two domain from one account, as I had to give the responsibility of it to another company.
    First I was advised to pay extra to split them to get two username and password for cpanel for each domain, which I did. But all it happened was I could access one domain through site ground web site login icon and the other domain still had access to the first domain.
    Then I could not login to 1st domain. It took 3 hours on line to explain on the 13/1/2015 to tech support and then I was told dns needed to point to the 2nd domain.
    Today I found out the domain had been done since 13th of Jan, also the joomla installation has gone. All email account I had setup is gone.
    Finally when I asked what I could do, I was told to contact the advance team to get a backup for the site and maybe they be able to get the email accounts as well.
    It would have been so much easier it site ground just setup a new account with an existing domain name for me and transfer the files across.
    I have three other domain with just host and was going to transfer them to site ground, but not now.

    I just transferred my WP site to SiteGround using their transfer service and it went almost perfect but the almost is something that was fixed right away. I’m not a WP developer so just having a responsive “team” behind you is super comforting. I know for sure that if I had to DIY I never would have done it in the timely manner that they did.

    I can’t speak to uptime (yet) but I’m confident it’ll be great. Customer Support is so important these days and I love that you can chat, call or email.

    Been using Siteground for around a year and a half – great service, anything that they believe you should know is sent to you via email. CPanel is a fantastic tool that makes everything a lot easier!
    Customer service is rather quick to respond and give precise details on how to sort out your problem.

    i started my blog on wordpress recently (still in progress) and decided to use SiteGround as my blog’s host. I chose the smallest WP package, so that’s the 1 year Start Up Hosting for around 68 €. Although the cost is broken down to your monthly costs, e.g. 5,60 €, you do pay the package at once. So make sure your account is fully covered 😉 That being said, it is worth every single penny, the service is amazing! No matter how stupid my questions were and how long it took me to understand how this all works and what i need everything for, the people from customer service where endlessly patient and I never felt dumb once, although some of my questions probably were 😉 Especially just starting off in the world of blogging and all that comes with it “behind the scenes”, this host is the best pick to find your way around. I did find the host via many other how-to-blog blogs that highly recommended it, also with respect to uptime, features and speed, which I personally can’t really say too much about at this point.     I have had a lot of trouble in the past with various hosting services. They have never seemed as if they were actually able to deliver on what they promised. I have tried at least half a dozen different companies, but to date I have never really been happy with any of them.

    However, I recently started working with SiteGround, and so far they have been quite different from all the rest. I have been very happy with them to date. One of the biggest differences has been the quality of the technical support.

    With other hosting companies, it has always been pretty hit or miss as to whether I would be able to get a real human being on the other end when I called for help. Even firms that promised 24/7 customer service did not really deliver on that promise. With SiteGround, on the other hand, I am always able to talk to someone right away.

    Not only that, but the technical support staff seems to really know what they are talking about. So far, they have yet to be stumped by any questions I have asked them. Of course, another good thing is that I have not really had any serious problems with their service.

    Another real benefit of choosing SiteGround is the speed of the site. They are much faster than any other hosting service I have used in the past. This is a real benefit since I get a lot of traffic on my site. Even when things are really busy, the site does not slow down at all, which makes everyone happy.

    I am definitely going to remain with this company for the foreseeable future. They seem much better than the competition, and I would strongly recommend them to anyone.

    Plus, servers are optimized for Joomla which is all I use anymore. Pretty awesome!

    I produce and manage a few dozen fairly large scale websites and I was looking for an enterprise class host for a large eCommerce project running under Magento. My normal “goto” provider’s servers were not behaving to my satisfaction on Magento, hence the search.
    My team boiled it down to 3 companies and handed it over to me. When I read the recommendation for SiteGround from Peter Van Westen (NoNumbers)… and then the endorsement from Nicholas K. Dionysopoulos (Akeeba) I was sold! These are probably two of the sharpest technologists in the CMS world. I think they are rock stars!
    I’m NOT… I’m a really good producer (movies, websites, companies, whatever) – and a good producer takes the endorsement of the industries smartest and brightest very seriously!
    They are right… Siteground was price competitive and technically fantastic including support.
    My only negative was that they could not let me use my standard company AMEX card without setting up a special link each month. Hence the 80% on features… (not the server, the accounting technology needs improving :).
    I give 90% on everything else because even good vendors should always have room for improvement.
    Don’t take my word for it, but definitely take Peter and Nikolas’ endorsements as meaningful.

I was inquiring on behalf of a third party; so have to always be careful if I was going to recommend Siteground. Which I am, and furthermore; I think my next sites, I will be hosting with Siteground also.

    Anton V was super!!! I was really upset because my current and previous web hosts use SpamAssassin. IS NOT working! I am not getting vital customer emails, bills, items I purchased or signed up for. I recalled you have another spam program and I can request SA turned off. Well, I was in LiveChat with that host telling them it is unacceptable that SA is trashing good emails.

    Plus at same time, LiveChat w/ Anton, asking him about spam software SG uses. He calmed me down, was funny, helpful, patient, smart and turned me into a customer. Not my first time here, but timing right. I simply MUST get my emails, ya know?

    I have dealt with your support team many times over the years. I have many client’s websites here and they have also been happy. I was a support rep for GoDaddy and can tell you the service and value I get from Siteground far surpasses them.

    I find the features Siteground offers as part of their packages are a collection of useful tools and features for which most hosting companies charge extra.

    I just got out of chat with Svetoslav. I have chatted with him a few times and always got average service. Average if you are referring to Siteground. All Siteground reps are way above most other hosting companies in the world.

    This is the third domain that i migrate to my siteground growbig plain.
    The chat and ticket support is wonderfull.
    Migration that in Italy take a week, here is necessary only 1 or 2 day.
    The service have no issue and the speed of my worpress sites is very fast.

    I can’t believe all the positive reviews here. Makes me wonder if mine will even show up.
    I left godaddy 10 months ago because I was having so many issues with Drupal compatibility.
    If I only knew what I was getting into.
    Yes technical support is nice and they are helpful for simple run of the mill stuff.
    They have some of the strictest limits I have ever seen as far as CPU and memory and stuff I had never even heard of on hosting. This gave me issues several times and they couldn’t make any effort to change things. After many problems and many hours trying to resolve various things the final straw was when I hit the limit on my emails since I wanted to keep them all on the server. Found out I only had 1 GB storage per email. They wouldn’t waiver in the slightest on this. As with their other limits they can’t increase them because it’s not fair to everyone else on the server. Even though for some reason I can have a ton of email addresses with 1GB storage I can’t have just one with more. They tried to sell me on the Grow big plan which would put me up to 2 GB per email haha. That would buy me another 10 months and I would be in the same boat.
    I got hosting through inmotion who has unlimited email storage. I paid about the same for the first year as the start up plan. After that it will be similar to the grow big.
    To transfer sites I found out I needed a full cpanel backup to make it easy to switch to the new company. Inmotion was going to do it for me for free.
    I found out I had to pay $25 for the full backup. Inmotion couldn’t believe this as they offer this for free. The site transfer didn’t happen as fast as I thought it would and some stuff got messed up because the backup wasn’t standard and I made sales so the database and site changed. I took my site down and tried to get another backup. Even though it was just a few days later I had to pay another $25 for another backup.

    Inmotion couldn’t figure out why they couldn’t get a standard cpanel backup so I had them talk to siteground. The tech at inmotion basically told me they were idiots and didn’t offer a standard cpanel backup and that the backup they got from siteground would take a lot of extra work to transfer.
    I lost one database that isn’t important enough for me to want to deal with anymore although it was the CRM for my business so I lost some important data.
    The rest of my site has little things like product images missing. After having the new host spend days sifting through the site, my databases and the backup files to get most of it transferred over I gave up and called it good enough. I’ll have to deal with the rest when I have time.
    Today I found out that siteground also doesn’t give you a refund for canceling hosting early. If you cancel within 30 days you get a complete refund but after that you are SOL.
    This company will bend you over at any oppertunity. As far as I can tell their only goal is to get as much money out of you as possible while providing as little as possible.
    In the end I gave them about $100 for 10 months of shitty service.

      I am sorry to hear of your problems. SiteGround is a premium host, and when properly setup with their Varnish Supercacher is very powerful. They use 1h.com technology to manage their resource usage which is a little different, but also very similar to a more standard Cloudlinux approach. Many of the better hosts have more control over the limits to increase stability, and this works great for the majority of users.

      As for the backup issue, I cannot comment, but it sounds unfortunate. Something I will look into, and test with a restore on one of my own servers.

    The thing is this I’m quite happy with everything that this company offers.

    I just find quite weird the conversion form Us$ to Eur.€.

    Which means that in US it’s $3.95 for basic plan promotion and in Europe for the same plan it’s €3.95 – Everyone knows that the rate is not the same so why the price should be?

    The difference is that I pay in the first year €47.4 instead of €37.32 if I would pay it in dollars. It’s not the value in itself but how did you made this calculations?

    I usually don’t write reviews about the companies from whom I’m a customer, because I think that you have to get what you are paying for. But with SiteGround I’m really happy, because I have tried other hosting services and I have finished cancelling my account.

    In this case, everything has been perfect, for example I hired a hosting plan by mistake and after I requested the money back through the support chat, they gave it to me in just 5 minutes, I didn’t have to explain almost anything (for people like me that live in Chile, it’s a big help to use the chat).

    Then I created a new site, but I needed to clone my previous wordpress installation, I opened a ticket and they did that for free in 20 minutes, I loaded my new site in my browser and everything was there already!

    And the last experience I had, and that’s why I’m writing the review it’s because I opened a ticket and I got the ticket update just 3 minutes after with the problem solved.

    The prices are really good and look for the coupons and deals I always save some money using them. Well, that’s all I guess :)

    I cant say how amazing Siteground has been this far. Not only was it cheap hosting, but it was fast and they even migrated my entire wordpress website over for me for free. That was awesome since I didn’t know how to move my site from one host to another. Not to mention I installed a plugin that messed up my ability to upload pictures, but didnt know that it was a plugin, and they got to the bottom of the problem and solved it by the end of that same day. By far best host I’ve ever had, and I’ve been hosting websites with multiple companies for year.

    I highly recommend Siteground services for all your internet needs: hosting, email services, etc. THeir prices are so fare and their customer service is UNBELIEVABLE!!! Their live chat is available 24 hours and they guide you step by step when you have a problem. Regarding hosting a security, they are always on top of all issues. They let you know about any issue as soon as they know and even before big companies announce them. THey are always updating softwares with latest updates (joomla, wordpress) and you don’t even need to worry about tat, because is they make everything smooth.

    I’ve been with Siteground since 2007 and think they are wonderful. Customer support is second to none and I have had plenty of bad experiences with other service providers when working on behalf of clients. I always advise them to use Siteground instead.

    Great hosting and beyond excellent customer support. I just submitted a Level 2 support ticket and it was resolved in under 90 seconds. I’ve never waited on hold and I’ve never had anything but professional courtesy and fast action. This is how all companies should treat their customers.

    Siteground may not always be the cheapest option, but their services are of excellent quality. Where they really beat the competition is in support. Not only are you helped within 1-3 minutes, the support staff actually sorts out your issues for you – rather than telling you what the problem is, and leaving you alone. This is priceless for anyone who is not a php, database or programming specialist, but may have some questions when it comes to spam, website transfer, and much more.

    I have been dealing with Siteground for quite a few years now. I have always had super fast customer service. No delays on live chat like the rep is working with more than one client.     The pre-sales service i got was fantastic ! Konstantin was the person I spoke with and SiteGround , let me tell you , you never want to lose this person as an employee ! He answered all of my questions , and quickly I might add , he was cordial, checked on things for me ! i expect this kind of service from all businesses I do business with but of course we all know that the harsh reality is that good business is now a hard thing to find in today’s world, but here at SiteGround, I found it !

    I’ve had many different hosting solutions; self-managed plesk servers, shared hosted solutions and so on. But SiteGround really stands out when it comes to WordPress and Joomla. They have great WordPress and Joomla “toolkits” that deliver extra’s like changing the URL, fixing permissions, resetting lost admin passwords etc; all with a single click!

    They also provide various caching options that really speed up the websites and it works pretty OK for as far as I can judge. Also the shared bit is something I don’t experience at all when it comes to performance.

    And the support is awesome; 24/7 live chat support; always available (used it about 20 times now) within 10 seconds. And this is 1st line support; when they can’t help you they forward it to 2nd line support and they have always responded within 10 minutes, half of the time already fixed it then. And this is support on in-depth-WordPress stuff like a site with a corrupt .htaccess-file and corrupted links through-out the database; analysed, fixed and reported working in 9 minutes! Truly awesome!

    There is one thing though that you shouldn’t do at SiteGround; register your domain-name. Don’t ever go there! It has been a onetime experience but they aren’t a registrar so they forward the registration stuff to (in my case) Tucows. But they have some kind of bizarre framework in the back-end that arranges the registration of DNS-servers with domain names that simply sucks, no other way to put it. For a client of mine they changed the DNS-servers for her hosting; normally not a problem; just change your DNS-servers for your domain and go on. But that’s not something they will do standard for you and even worse; they actually left her website and e-mail down for days because we simply couldn’t change the DNS-servers for the domain using their interface because of … ? I transferred my domain to another registrar and setup the correct name servers and the website was up and running again in no-time.

    So as long as you get at SiteGround what they’re good at; hosting websites; you’re solid ! But stick with that!

    After using Hostgator where we encountered nothing but issues, and horrible customer support, it is wonderful to have joined a host that actually cares!

    I have had some issues with “lost domains” thanks to Hostgator, so trying to bring them over to SiteGround has been hard to say the least. But after a little back and forth with support they were able to get my site stransfered for me…plus assist me with mutiple other issues I was having.

    The responce time is amazing…with my old host when you wanted live chat you had to wait a min of 30 minutes but usually more, they normally couldn’t assist in the issue and would blame the issue on something else, and chat often had a nastry habbit of cutting out in the middle of a session – leaving you with no answers and about an hour of your time lost. On SiteGround each time I had to contact support (even when it would say there was 10 people before me) I was connected within seconds – not minutes, they know what they are talking about, they are helpful and fix anything they can, or provide you with the resources needed to do it another way.

    So far, I have nothing but possitive reviews for SiteGround – and the call to welcome you is a nice touch. I highly recommend Siteground to anyone big or small in need of any of their services offered.

    The Technical support wizards really know their stuff. These are not people pretending they know more than they do to fob us off. If they say they will do something they do it. All hosting and technical support should follow Siteground staffs lead. In my experience a company succeeds through the quality of its people.     We’ve been in online retail now for over 13 years. We have our own customised web site as well as other out of the box sites – CS-CART for example.

    I was looking to host a CS-CART store and didn’t plan on doing a whole lot with it. Our main provider was charing us $500.00 a month to cost it and it wasn’t worth the money.

    When I found siteground I was wasn’t very hopeful as they were very cheap, but their service has been amazing.

    I often find with any provider that the pre-sales service is great and then they leave you high and dry once the contact is in place. This has not been the case with siteground at all.

    Their live chat help is the best. I’ve also lodge jobs (install CS-CART for free, for example) that has been done within hours – yep – not days – but hours.

    I can’t recommend them highly enough and we will be moving everything over to them.

    I woke up this morning in the middle of our Film Festival and found that the website was down (wordpress database error).     Unfortunately my experience with site ground is poor and I will not recommend them. From my experience, the ONLY thing they are good at is responding to your emails and support but when it comes to the actual hosting and value for money they fail woefully. I have moved one of my sites away from them after noticing how terribly slow it was. I was on the go geek and had their plugin SG cache installed and followed their tutorials on setting up and all, terrible move and I was glad I moved away! I should have learnt my lesson but decided to try them out again but this time a fairly smaller site with little to no traffic and went with the go big plan. I have installed and configured all the cache and security system logins and done what I would do for a standard blog. As of writing this post, less than a month into the plan, I have been told the website is out of resources and executions. The sales tagline on the website goes like “This plan is designed to accommodate either a single more heavily-trafficked website or multiple average-size websites. This is a popular plan among customers who prefer to host all their sites in one account.”

    Let me stress again this is a new site with hardly any traffic! I would definitely stay away from this one. And if any SG support is reading this, I am real client and can back up my claims that you are not worth you claim to be well in my case.

    Since moving to Siteground due to very poor service from Webintellects, where my sites were being maliciously hacked up to 3 times a week from inside their insecure servers and despite being repeatedly miss-informed by them that all of the problems were my end and couldn’t possibly be Webintellects servers, despite their refusal to update their php, which was 3 years out of date and known to be vulnerable.. I bit the bullet and moved everything over to Siteground.

    Since then my sites have remained stable, there have been no hackers attacking them and instead of ripping my hair out for years, I have a renewed faith in rebuilding and improving my sites.

    Siteground’s help has always been very professional, the tech support is second to none. If you are not with this company and are experiencing problems, do as I did and move your sites here. Thanks you. Andrew

    I recommend SiteGround to anyone looking for a sensible managed hosting plan for their WordPress site.

    I have been with Media Temple and WP Engine, and I can tell you that SiteGround’s services achieve a happy medium between power and flexibility and security and support.

    Anyone serious about WordPress knows that a managed host is a must to maintain security and stability. Bluehost and Media Temple aren’t truly managed, which means you’re left vulnerable.

    At the other extreme, if you need to WordPress to be flexible and and scalable and infinitely customizable – you won’t win with a restrictive, though perhaps more secure, host (excuse me I have to cough – WP-ENGINE).

    So go with SiteGround and stay in your happy place!

My site Apartial.com has had absolutely no down time and I have been given great assistance in setting it up correctly.

Don’t waste your time on the super-cheapies: SiteGround is a reasonable price for an absolutely top-notch service.

    I was very pleased with help I just got with a perplexing problem caused by misbehavior of an email client I was trying to set up, which somehow resulted in firewall blockage.     I have used many, many hosting sites in the past. It is amazing to me that siteground is as great as it is when the price is no higher than any other hosting services I have purchased in the past. As soon as you sign up for this service, you can tell immediately that this site is of greater quality than most others. From the layout and design of the site, to the features and the friendly atmosphere- I love it, and would pay more for the service if I had to. One of the most amazing things about siteground is that when I submit a ticket, I get a response in record time. Record time is an hour- Siteground will reply to tickets literally within minutes and will stay present for whatever dialogue occurs until the issue is resolved.

    I can’t even remember how I stumbled onto the Siteground site, but I’m glad I did. Glad enough to stop what I was doing and write this review!

    I’ve used siteground for several years for a couple of my web-sites….and they’re ok for the web-site hosting. However, for a real business application, they lack terribly in the ‘full range’ of services they claim. A small business cannot get a good deal for email…their email for the basic is limited to 500mb….Yes…500mb…not many emails. A customer cannot simply upgrade the email account storage as you can with other companies. Where with most companies, you can get 5 GB for about $50 a YEAR…with Site Ground, you have to upgrade the ENTIRE ACCOUNT to an $80 per MONTH service to get 2GB of storage. That is ridiculous. I called them about this and they said they are not an email service provider, it’s provided as a convenience only…so they do not offer plans to upgrade only the email. That’s a poor response and philosophy. They also do not disclose the limitation on their web-site when purchasing…all their account plans actually say ‘unlimited emails’…which is not true. It’s deceptive. I would not recommend SiteGround if looking for an all-in-one solution.

      I called SiteGround to do the transfer…and the lady I spoke with at SiteGround said they will not help me transfer your emails to another provider. She actually said if the other company wants my business then they will figure it out for me. In my judgment, she was very defensive…and petty. She said she is not going to try to convince me that she’s right that they are a great provider…as I expressed my opinion that they should disclose the extreme limitations in their web-site marketing and also suggested they recommend up front to potential customers to use a viable email provider….and not market as if they are a good all-in-one solution, because they are not. Her resolution was that I delete unnecessary emails. I keep emails for back reference…so that’s not a viable solution and would not be for most businesses. SiteGround needs to step up their game to be a viable all-in-one solution for small business. Right now, they simply are not in my experience.

        We understand your concerns (and will certainly respect your feedback when we make changes to our products), but please note that in the first place we provide web hosting services and only as part of that – email hosting. Due to this fact our email solution might be subject to some limitations, but we have made sure to mention them explicitly on our website.
        When you purchase email hosting from other providers, you usually pay only for email services per user (as in the case with GoDaddy $50/year per user) and for additional users you have to pay additionally. A domain name is also usually not included in the package and neither is website hosting.
        With our package on the other hand users get the domain name free, email hosting and website hosting together. With our email service we don’t set a limit on the number of email accounts your can create. What we do limit is the space usage per account – as mentioned in our TOS – up to 500 MB with our StartUp plan, up to 1000 MB with our GrowBig plan, and up to 2000 MB with our GoGeek plan. We understand that our email service might be not suitable for every user, but we do not hide this fact and are always willing to improve thanks to users feedback like yours.

Ever since I moved my site to SiteGround, it has never been down, it loads fast, and that all only for 3.95 €/mo.

    I signed up with SiteGround a few months ago. Back then I had no idea that SiteGround is one of the best companies to host your site with. I just chose SiteGround because of the rather cheap price, and hoped that it wouldn’t be really awful. However, I haven’t had any major issues with SiteGround, and the up-time is indeed 100%.
